Meet Kristen Stewart, MD
Dr. Kristen Stewart earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University, her Master of Science from Pennsylvania State University, and her Medical Degree from Temple University. Her early academic and clinical accomplishments include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and recognition as Hospital Intern of the Year.
Dr. Stewart completed her dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and an active member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She was selected to participate in the AAD Leadership Forum and has contributed to numerous committees, task forces, work groups, and volunteer initiatives within both organizations.
Dr. Stewart served as a physician in the U.S. Navy for over 10 years, beginning her career as a flight surgeon and later specializing in dermatology. Her military training included aviation medicine, Space Operations Medical Training at NASA, and tropical medicine. During her service, she received several honors and awards, including recognition by the Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy for being ranked among the top five dermatologists in patient satisfaction.
Dr. Stewart practices general and surgical dermatology, with a strong focus on skin cancer prevention, surveillance, and treatment. She also has specialized post-doctoral training and expertise in vulvar dermatology—a subspecialty at the intersection of dermatology and gynecology.
She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Diseases and has authored multiple recent publications on the care of women with vulvar dermatoses. Since relocating to Jacksonville in 2012, Dr. Stewart has been actively involved in the local medical community. She has served as President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Jacksonville Dermatology Society. She is also a credentialed active staff member at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center South, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and has served on Baptist Hospital’s Women’s Health Physician Steering Committee.
