Intense Pulsed Light
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a device used to treat facial lines and wrinkles, broken facial veins, rosacea, freckles, age spots, and mild to moderate acne. Unlike most lasers that use a single wavelength of light, IPL uses light produced with a broad spectrum of wavelengths to target either blood when treating vascular lesions or melanin when treating pigmented lesions thereby damaging them. The injured tissue is then naturally removed by the body’s own internal processes, leaving the skin looking younger and fresh.
Patients usually require multiple treatments to achieve the desired results. This procedure is simple, fast and requires almost no downtime with most patients returning to normal activities immediately.
