Meet Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD

 

Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD is an internationally recognized expert in skin of color and a board-certified dermatologist at Miami Design District Dermatology and Aesthetics. She has lectured extensively at national and international conferences on the cosmetic concerns of skin of color and has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Ethnic Skin and Hair and Skin and Aging.

Dr. Woolery-Lloyd completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University and earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She went on to complete her dermatology residency at the University of Miami, where she served as Chief Resident.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Woolery-Lloyd holds an academic role as Director of Ethnic Skin Care at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. She also serves as the Director of the dermatology curriculum at the University of Miami School of Medicine and has been active on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Diversity Task Force.

A strong advocate for inclusive clinical research, Dr. Woolery-Lloyd participates as a lead investigator in numerous clinical trials, with a focus on expanding representation of patients with skin of color. She is also the creator of Specific Beauty, a skincare line designed to meet the unique needs of multi-hued skin tones. Her expertise has been featured in publications such as O, The Oprah Magazine, Allure, and Prevention.
