Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic Keratosis can cause waxy, raised spots that are usually black or brown to appear on the skin. It is one of the most common, non-cancerous skin lesions in adults over the age of 50. Typically, Seborrheic Keratosis appears on the shoulders, back, chest, or face. It may appear as a single lesion, or there can be several growths. It is not related to sun exposure and not linked to the development of skin cancer. There is a tendency to run in families, leading researchers to suspect a genetic link.
