Meet Julia Escandon Brehm, MD, PhD, FAAD

 

Dr. Julia Escandon is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with a particular focus on skin cancer and inflammatory skin diseases. With advanced training in both dermatology and cancer biology, she combines patient care and clinical research to help patients achieve healthier skin.

Dr. Escandon’s approach is to know the patient and understand their concerns and individual goals. She emphasizes personalized treatment plans, clear communication, and realistic expectations to help patients feel informed and confident in their care.

Originally from Ecuador, Dr. Escandon earned her medical degree from the Universidad de Cuenca and her PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Miami. She completed her internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach and her dermatology residency at the University of Miami’s Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, where she served as Cosmetic Chief Resident.

Dr. Escandon is committed to training the next generation of dermatologists and serves as voluntary faculty at the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Dr. Escandon enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds and values cultural diversity. Outside of work, she is a wife, a mom, and a dog lover.
