Meet Michael S. Sofman, MD

 

Michael S. Sofman, M.D. is a distinguished board-certified dermatologist with a long-standing commitment to excellence in patient care and dermatologic education. Originally from Cranford, New Jersey, Dr. Sofman graduated from Georgetown University before earning his medical degree from UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School in 1985.

Following medical school, Dr. Sofman completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He then pursued his dermatology residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he served as Chief Resident from 1988 to 1989. He earned his board certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 1989.

Dr. Sofman has been an active volunteer faculty member in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami, contributing to the education and training of future dermatologists.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sofman has earned numerous accolades recognizing his expertise and dedication, including listings in Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, the Consumers’ Research Council’s America’s Top Physicians, and Castle Connolly’s America’s Top Doctors—notably highlighted as one of the top dermatologists in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
