Meet Shari F. Topper, MD

 

Dr. Shari Topper is a board-certified dermatologist with over three decades of experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is widely recognized for her clinical expertise, leadership, and dedication to advancing patient care in South Florida.

Dr. Topper graduated summa cum laude from the University of Albany and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She was the only junior ever admitted to the university’s senior honor society, Signum Laudis. She earned her medical degree from Downstate Medical School, where she was awarded both the prestigious Syntex Student Research Fellowship and the Engel Summer Research Fellowship. Dr. Topper completed her internship in internal medicine at NYU and her dermatology residency at Wayne State University in Michigan, where she served as Chief Resident.

After relocating to Florida in 1992, Dr. Topper became one of the first female board-certified dermatologists in Broward County. She went on to serve as a senior partner in a leading dermatology practice in Boca Raton and Coral Springs for over 20 years before co-founding DermPartners, Inc. in 2013 with Dr. Fiedler.

Throughout her career, Dr. Topper has been recognized nationally and locally for her excellence in dermatology. She has been named a “Top Doctor” by U.S. News & World Report and consistently honored by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor for over a decade. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Topper has also served as Medical Director for Spa Thira Laser Hair Removal Centers and frequently lectures on cosmetic dermatology throughout the Palm Beach County area.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Topper has contributed as a media consultant and speaker for television programs, including Healthcare and You on the Boca Raton Health Cable Network. She currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board at Colorescience™ and is a national consultant and lecturer for the brand. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Dr. Topper is married with two children and is passionate about pediatric sun safety. In 2002, she founded the Sunshade for Kids Foundation, Inc., through which she has facilitated the installation of sunshades at numerous preschools across Palm Beach County.
