Alysa R. Herman, M.D., is a Board Certified Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon with offices located in Coral Gables and Key Largo, Florida. Her special area of expertise in the field of dermatology is Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Dr. Herman provides patients with the latest technology and expertise in the field of Skin Cancer.
Dr. Herman received her Medical Degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She performed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed her residency in dermatology at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Herman then completed a Fellowship in Mohs Surgery in Los Angeles, CA., under the direction of Richard G. Bennett, M.D.
Dr. Herman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She has been an invited speaker to dermatologic society meetings both domestically and internationally and has authored several publications in dermatologic literature. Dr. Herman has held voluntary faculty appointments as a clinical instructor at UCLA Medical Center, USC Medical Center and at Martin Luther King/Drew Medical Center. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
