Francessca L. Brettschneider, M.D., is a Board Certified Anatomic Pathologist and Board Certified Dermatopathologist.
Originally from Baltimore, Dr. Brettschneider completed her Undergraduate Studies at University of Maryland where she majored in Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Kappa Phi with honors. She received her Medical Degree from University of Maryland Medical School. Dr. Brettschneider performed a combined Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. She stayed at Mount Sinai where she completed a Fellowship in Dermatopathology with Dr. Les Rosen.
For almost the next 20 years Dr. Brettschneider practiced as a Hospital Pathologist at Florida Keys Memorial Hospital in Key West, Florida. She performed Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology and in addition she worked as Assistant Hospital Laboratory Director. In 2006 she returned to the mainland and accepted a Dermpathology position at Palm Beach Pathology in West Palm Beach, Florida. She later worked as a Dermatopathologist for Ameripath South Florida in Broward County.
Throughout her professional career, Dr. Brettschneider has volunteered her time teaching Medical Students at Universities and Residents at Hospitals. She is the recipient of the Arkadi M. Rywlin Memorial Fellowship Award. Her personal interests include spending time with her husband, their dogs, cooking and visiting the Florida Keys.
