Dr. Kristen Stewart earned her Bachelor of Science at Villanova University, her Master of Science at Pennsylvania State University and her Medical Degree at Temple University. Her early academic and clinical achievements include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and being named Hospital Intern of the Year. Dr. Stewart completed her residency in Dermatology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatologists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and an active member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She was selected for the AAD Leadership Forum and involved in various committees, task forces/ work groups and volunteer activities in both organizations.
Dr. Stewart served as a physician in the U.S. Navy for over 10 years, first as a flight surgeon and later as a dermatologist. As a military physician, Dr. Stewart was trained in aviation medicine, including Space Operations Medical Training at NASA and tropical medicine. She received numerous honors and awards during her military career, including recognition by the Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy for being among the top five dermatologists ranked by patient satisfaction.
Dr. Kristen Stewart practices general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has specific interest skin cancer prevention, surveillance, and treatment, as well as acne and in anti-aging skin care. Additionally, Dr. Stewart has significant post-doctoral clinical training and expertise in vulvar dermatology, a subspecialty at the intersection of gynecology and dermatology. She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Diseases and has authored multiple recent publications related to caring for women with vulvar dermatoses.
Since moving to Jacksonville in 2012, Dr. Stewart has been active in the community. She served as the Jacksonville Dermatology Society President in 2015 and as the Secretary/Treasurer in 2014. She is a credentialed active staff member at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center South, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital as well as a member of the Baptist Physician Partners. Dr. Stewart is a member of Baptist Hospital’s Women’s Health Physician Steering Committee.
