Dr. Reid Green, a board-certified dermatologist, is a native Floridian, from Venice Florida. He studied biology at the University of Florida and graduated summa cum laude. He was in the second “pioneering” class at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, was the first person to match into dermatology from this medical school, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Green’s internal medicine internship was completed at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then moved to Austin, Texas and completed his dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School, where he served as chief resident during his final year. Although he thoroughly enjoys seeing patients of all ages, Dr. Green has a special passion for dermatologic conditions afflicting the geriatric population and was the co-founder of the Geriatric Interest Group in medical school. He hopes to expound upon this passion throughout his career by continuing to stay up-to-date with the latest research and treatment options for patients of all ages.
What Dr. Green enjoys most about dermatology is that many times the dermatologist is the first provider to notice signs of internal disease. Ranging from the correlation with psoriasis and cardiovascular disease to entities such as the subtle nail fold changes seen in various connective tissue diseases, the dermatologist is in a unique position to counsel patients on their health and to be part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Green is published in both the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Pediatric Dermatology Journal. He has also presented many posters on various dermatologic conditions at statewide meetings. His non-work pursuits include spending time with his wife, Lizzie, and his Boston Terriers, Layla, and Lou, fishing, golfing, trying new restaurants, collecting baseball cards and original movie posters. Dr. Green sees patients in our Coral Springs office.
