Richard M. Rubenstein, M.D., is a Board Certified Dermatologist and leads a team of doctors which include Dr. Larissa Scanlon, Dr. Prethi Mohip, and physician assistant Christina Curran, at two locations in Florida, Tamarac, and Delray Beach. He and his team perform a blend of dermatologic and cosmetic/aesthetic services and accept same day or next day appointments for urgent medical matters.
Dr. Rubenstein completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University, Magna Cum Laude and received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York and performed his residency in Dermatology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Rubenstein was named one of South Florida’s top doctors in 2013-2020 by Castle Connolly. He has authored and co-authored over 10 published articles in the field of dermatology. During 2007 he contributed to a Published Book Chapter: Dermal and Subcutaneous Tumors in Skin Surgery by Roenigk and Roenigk. He recently was re-elected President of Broward County Dermatologic Society, a group of Dermatologists who meet every three months to discuss new programs and procedures. Dr. Rubenstein is also Co-Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at Larkin Hospital, Delray Beach, Florida. In 2013, Dr. Rubenstein was nominated by his peers to theUS News and World Reports list of America’s Top Doctors. In 20209 Dr. Rubenstein was again selected by Castle Connolly Medical Research as one of South Florida’s Top Docs. He has received this distictive award each year since 2011. In May of 2015 Dr. Rubenstein was selected as one of the Top Docs for Dermatology by Boca Life Magazine. This prestigious award is bestowed on only 290 physicians in 44 specialties in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. In 2020 Dr. Rubenstein co-authored an article published in the September 2020 issue of the JAAD a leading dermatology publication, about the successful treatment of a rare meningeal-derived subcutaneous fibrous tumor. Dr. Rubenstein was also featured in the December 2020 issue of The Boca Raton Observer.
Dr. Rubenstein provides patients with the latest advances in Dermatology as well as the latest laser technology. His special areas of expertise include skin cancer surgery, botox, sclerotherapy, dermal fillers, laser treatments, sun damage, brown spots, spider veins as well as Pediatric Dermatology. Additionally, Dr. Rubenstein offers his patients specially formulated skin care products for use as part of a physician supervised skin care regimen. An office based Aesthetician is always available to perform chemical peels, micro dermabrasions, facials and skin care consultations in all three of his offices.
