Dr. Shari Topper is a Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Albany where she was the only junior to ever be admitted to the senior honor society, Signum Laudis. She received her medical degree from Downstate Medical School and was awarded the prestigious Syntex Student Research Fellowship and the Engel Summer Research Fellowship. She completed her internship in Medicine at NYU. She was a resident in Dermatology at Wayne State University in Michigan where she also served as Chief Resident.
She moved to Florida in 1992 and became one of the first female Board Certified Dermatologists in Broward County. During the last 20 years, Dr. Topper was a Senior Partner in a Dermatology practice in Boca Raton and Coral Springs until 2013 when she and Dr. Fiedler formed DermPartners, Inc.
Dr. Topper has been named Top Doctor by US News and World Report and been continually recognized by Castle Connelly as a Top Doctor for the past 10 years. She is a member of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. She has been the Medical Director of Spa Thira Laser Hair Removal Centers at its three Florida locations. She has been a guest speaker on the subject of Cosmetic Dermatology for various community groups in the Palm Beach County area. Dr. Topper has been a guest consultant for television and video presentations such as Healthcare and You which appeared on the Boca Raton Health Cable Network. Dr. Topper is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and received her initial certification in 1992 and was re-certified in 2002 and 2012. In 2014 Dr. Topper was named to the Scientific Advisory Board at Colorescience™ and serves as a consultant and national lecturer. Dr. Topper is also a member of the Advisory Board of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Dr. Topper is married with two children. As a concerned mother and Dermatologist, she has become an active supporter for sun protection for children. In 2002 Dr. Topper founded the Sunshade for Kids Foundation, Inc. and has facilitated the implementation of sunshades for multiple pre-schools in the Palm Beaches.
