Wrinkles, scars, uneven pigmentation and sun damage are all conditions that affect the appearance of our skin. Oiliness, large pores and dull complexions are other common problems. These chronic conditions can be improved with Chemical Peels.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Chemical peeling is a non-surgical outpatient procedure in which a glycolic acid solution is applied to the skin. The acid removes the damaged outermost layers of skin to stimulate cell growth and reveal fresh, new skin with a smoother tone and texture. The face is most commonly treated, but this method can be used on other body parts including the neck, chest, hands, arms and legs.

The condition of the skin as well as the desired result determines the strength of glycolic acid that is used in the solution. Superficial or minor peels to treat problems such as blotchiness, acne or blackheads do not require anesthesia or sedation and are sometimes performed by trained nurses or aestheticians. Minor peels are often administered in a series to achieve the desired result.

Deeper peels are for patients with problems such as sun damage who are either preparing for or trying to delay laser resurfacing. Mild sedation may be necessary.

Am I Good Candidate for a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peels can treat a range of skin problems. Your physician will review your medical history, age, skin type, pigmentation, and consider your desired result to determine the best course of treatment for you.

What Can I Expect After a Chemical Peel?

Recovery after a Chemical Peel varies depending on the depth of the peel. For superficial or minor peels, there is no recovery time. Any redness will disappear within a few hours. For deeper peels recovery can take up to fourteen days and may require dressings or ointments.

We offer a variety of chemical peels designed to treat specific skin conditions. We offer a consultation to help you determine the best option for your skin type and overall aesthetic goals.

Brightening Eye and Lip Peel

A peel used on the eye and lip area needs to be gentle. This peel uses TCA to improve the tone and texture of your skin while lightening dark circles under the eyes and diminishing the appearance of fine lines around the eyes and lips.
